Vasa Vasorum
Found in the walls of large arteries and veins function: these are Small blood vessels which supply nutrition to tunica media and tunica adventitia

Function of elastic arteries

During systole, They absorb some of the pulse beat by expansion of their walls. During diastole, the large arteries return to normal size pushing the blood forward (windkessel effect). They make the blood flow less intermittent during cardiac cycle.
