Kernel Idea
Switching and service control are separated. switching system just perform the basic call connection function additional network perform the service control function
IN Concept
It is a kind of network which be annexed to public telecom network and transmission network existing now, to provide new services quickly, conveniently and economically. The target of IN is to serve all kinds of network.
IN Concept
The IN a superposed network on the basis of the original communications networks. It is a network system capable of generating and realizing various new services quickly, conveniently, flexibly, economically and effectively. It has the centralized Service Control Point (SCP) and database, and the centralized service management system and service creation environment. Its core thoughts are to separate service control and service switching.

IN Concept Model
SP: from the point of the users, describe the IN services which the system can provide. GFP: from the point of the service deviser, describe all of the functions which the system can provide. DFP: from the network deviser, describer the functional entities. PP: from the network implement, describer the physical enetities.

SCP structure
Core of IN, mainly fulfill service control function & service data function, Accept management from SMF. SCP includes 3 parts:
1. SIU (signaling interface unit): provide No.7 signaling function for SCP 2. SCM (service control module): process service logic & service data 3. Database server (DB): store & manage the data which is necessary for SCP to go along service logic control.
IN Structure
IP
Provide the interface for the users, provide play announcement, DTMF, etc Usually integrated with SSP
IN Structure
Service logic management: load, unload, active and inactive. Service data management: user data and service data Charging data management Device management Operator management
