Outcome: a response to a practise question

The pigs begin to walk on two legs and behave entirely like humans. Things are just as they were when Mr Jones was in charge, if not worse. Napoleon changes the name back to Manor Farm, rather than Animal Farm. Mr Jones, helped by other farmers, tries to recapture the farm and fails.

Napolean continues to tell the animals that Snowball is plotting against them. He tells them that Snowball was working with Mr Jones all along. Some animals are killed after confessing that they were working with Snowball. The windmill is destroyed and Napoleon blames this on Snowball.

Snowball plans to build a windmill and Napoleon opposes the idea. Snowball gives a powerful speech and is about to win a vote but Napoleon sets his dogs on him, chasing him away.

. The pigs try to teach the animals to read and write, without much success. Napoleon takes Jessie and Bluebells puppies away to educate them.

Old Major gathers the animals together and tells them about his vision of a time when animals will rebel against humans. The animals rebel against Mr Jones and take over the farm. The animals work well together.

Napoleon announces that they will start trading with other farms, making the other animals uneasy. Old Major dies and is buried in the orchard.

The other farmers attack again but the animals win less easily and the windmill is destroyed again. The hens try to rebel when Napoleon decides to sell their eggs, but he stops their food until they give in. Nine hens die.

Conditions worsen and Boxer is sold to a horse slaughterer, although Napoleon claims he was taken to hospital and died. Squealer, Snowball and Napoleon reveal their seven commandments of animalism to the other animals.

Napoleon starts work on the windmill, claiming it was his idea all along. Squealer helps him to convince the animals.

The animals protest after the pigs take the apples (and milk) for themselves, but are convinced that it is for the best
