Why BEE rating is important?

BEE rating is important as it brings all products at common and equal platform for evaluation. All manufactures have to ensure the product within the stated Performance & Safety band as specified by BEE. Customer can select the product as per their usage requirement involving Energy & Water consumption.

What is the standard procedure followed by BEE to rate a Home appliance?

Step 1: Manufactures test their products as per IS standards and guidelines stated by BEE. Step 2 : Manufactures submit test reports and other necessary documents to BEE in their stated format. Step 3: BEE verifies all the reports and documents and then give the approval for Star rating as per stated Energy consumption

norms. Is it compulsory for Home appliance companies to get BEE rating for their products?
For Washing Machine as of today, BEE star rating is Voluntary phase and is NOT compulsory, but soon it will be made mandatory like other HA products (as REF & AC).
