What is Sales letter?

A form of direct mail in which an advertiser sends a letter to a potential customer. Whether you send it out solo or as part of a direct mail package, a sales letter can be one of your most effective marketing tools, allowing u to speak one- on-one to prospects and customers.

What makes a good sales letter?

There are three key rules:

Start with a hook Give them the facts fast End persuasively

1. Start with a hook:Begin your letter with a provocative thought or idea that hooks readers and makes them want to keep reading.

2. Give them the facts fast:Quickly list the top two or three benefits of doing business with your company.

3. End persuasively:Close the letter with a strong argument that compels readers to respond

How long should a sales letter be?

The standard answer is "long enough to do the job." It takes longer to persuade a prospective customer to buy than to merely get him to inquire further. But in today's high-tech age, people become impatient with anything that takes much longer than a blink to read.

Format of a Sales Letter

Name of client, Title of client, Address of Company or client, Date, Dear (name of the client)

Paragraph 1: Introduction of the letter should capture the attention of the reader. You may mention the problems that the client may be having and which your product or service will resolve. Introduce the company and what you specialize in.) Paragraph 2: Introduce the product or service you intend to sell to the client. Show the client the ways in which they will benefit from investing in your product or service.

Paragraph 3: Give your contact information for the client to find out more information on the product or service.

A Letter of Agency (LOC) is a document authorizing a telecommunications provider to act on a consumers behalf. Some vendors may also call this a Letter of Authorization. This is generally required in United States when switching a telephone service provider while keeping the current telephone number of any other service which requires transfer of information from one provider to another.
