How do we say the Rosary?

The Apostles' Creed

The Apostles' Creed

The Apostles' Creed

I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

The Rosary begins with the Joyful Mysteries, which are happy stories.

The Annunciation
The Joyful Mysteries begin with the Angel Gabriel saying to Mary that she is going to be the mother of Jesus.

Ave Maria

The angel's greeting to Mary, which is traditionally translated as "Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee," is the opening of the Ave Maria, and a part of the Rosary prayers.

The Visitation
Mary visits her cousin Elizabeth to tell her how happy she is that she is going to have a baby.

The Nativity
The birth of Jesus in Bethlehem, everybody knows that story.

The Presentation
The Fourth Joyful Mystery tells us that Mary and Joseph brought their little baby to the Temple, to offer him to God.

The Finding in the Temple

The Fifth Joyful Mystery is about something that happened to Jesus when he was a little boy. He got lost on a trip he took with his parents to Jerusalem. But they found him and were happy to bring him home.
