LED (Light Emitting Diode)

LEDs were initially thought as efficient solid state indicator devices with low illumination levels. With the advancement in chip designs and secondary optics plus thermal design management techniques, LEDs advanced into potent light sources. LEDs have indeed emerged as the future of all lighting needs.

Application of LEDs

These days LEDs has found the application in every field right from the indicators (from where they had started) to high light output applications.
LEDs Products are proven to be cutting edge technology and have unique features and result in higher energy efficiency, quality and reliability.

If CFLs are not recycled properly, up to 25 per cent of the mercury contained in CFLs could be released into the atmosphere, [through] Bulb breakage during transport, vaporisation during incineration [and] evaporation from landfills. For the EU, the study reports a mercury distribution factor, stating that 9.2 per cent of mercury contained in CFLs is eventually emitted to the atmosphere. http://ec.europa.eu/environment/integration/research/newsalert/pdf/129na1.pdf
