Chapter 26
Plot
Exposition Rab says that he wants to help them because Rory and Granda are not criminals. He allows them to use his flat and seems kind and concerned. Rising Action As Granda awakened from sleep, he didnt know where he was. He started swearing Rab as he saw him and Rory quientened him with soothing words.
Climax Though pale and tired, Granda says that he is alright as long as he is with Rory. Rory feels sorry for not taking his Granda to a safer place but to a caravan park.
Falling Action Rory prays for help because he realises he needs someone to help him. Resolution Again TV newsflashes show that the public is very much on their side and Rory gets to know that his Grandas son, his father, has been traced to Liverpool

Social Responsibilities
The public have a social responsibility. People like Rab helps them because he thinks they are not criminals. There is compassion and kindness in looking after people in need.
Characters and Characteristics Main Characters Rory Caring he feels sorry for bringing his Granda through his wrong decisions. (pg. 126) Religious he was obedient to god that he prayed for some help. (pg. 127) Granda Trusting he trusts Rory to look after him and follows him unquestioningly. Setting
Petrol station - Where Rory and Granda stoped as the car they stole needed petrol. - Rory looked puzzled as he talks to a stranger who owns the station. - The owner, Rab, was willing to help them. Rabs flat - Granda was kept warm as he was freezing. - Rory prayed for some help. - Rory was shocked as he hears about his father in the television.
Moral Values
Not to be judgemental - Rab appeared rough and untrustworthy but proved to be good and helpful. (pg. 124-125) Religious piety - Rory is religious in his own way. He talks to god in a friendly, chatty way. - He asks god to help and makes childlike promises to Him if he gets what he wants. (pg 127)

Chapter 27
Exposition: Rab offered Rory tea and sausage butty. He was surprised that Rory has a father.Rory told Rab tnot to relate the news about his father to Granda as Granda will get angry when mentioned about his son. Rising action: Rab assured Rory that he would not turn them in.Rory was planning to find his father and asking him to give some money
Climax: Rory was surprised when watched the news.It was reported that Rory and his granda has been sighted in number of places.The name Jeff McIntosh was mentioned.Rory was surprised and he had never knew his fathers name until that time.
Falling action: Rory was advised by Rab to go to Liverpool and let his father to take responsibility for the situation.Rab guided Rory to look into the phone book to locate his father. Resolution: Granda fell out of bed and got up totally disorientated.He could not recognized Rory he was so scared.Rory assured Granda that every thing was all right.Rory was planning on going to Liverpool.

Rab Kind -Rab helped Rory and Granda by offering his place to stay for awhile Good adviser -Rab advised Rory that he should go to Liverpool and ask his father to take responsibility for the situation Intelligent -Rab told Rory to look to phone book to locate his father Granda Ill-tempered -Rory told Rab that Granda will get angry if someone mentioned about his son,Jeff Forgetful -Granda was fell out of the bed.He suddenly can not recognized Rory for a moment.

Chapter 28
SUMMARY
Rory woke up in the morning and found out that Rab was talking slowly to someone in the phone in the living room down stairs. Rory imagined that Rab was going to caught them at the police. Rory planned to escape but he decided to go ask Rab himself. Rory went to the kitchen and asked Rab who was he talking to. Rab explained to Rory that he made a plan to help them to go to Liverpool. That morning, Rab drived Rory and his granda to the Borders and met Annie, Rabs girlfriend. They got to know each other and they ate together. Annie brought soup, tea, crusty bread and fruits. After eating, Rory and his granda travelled in Annies car hearing Frank Sinatras songs heading to Normas house.

How society tries to intervene and help those who they think are unfairly treated and who they think deserve a better treatment. Rab and his friends try to help Rory and his granda to escape from the police.

Cautious- He was careful when he heard Rab talking in the phone silently.
Briliant- He quickly finds a way out when he was suspicious with Rab.

Give credence- He trusted Rory without asking where they were going. Rab Helpful- He planned ways to help Rory and his granda to go Liverpool to meet his father.

This is where Rory and his granda had their night before heading to Liverpool.
The place where Rory heard Rab talking to someone slowly in the living room. The Borders The place where Rory, his granda, Rab and Annie eat together before travelling far.
MORAL VALUES
Compassion and kindness
Rab was compassion and kind to Rory and his granda when he helped them to escape from the police.
Rab also showed the value of kindness when he drove Rory and granda to the Borders for two hours. Not to be judgemental Rory thought Rab was talking to the police when he woke up in the morning. Instead, Rab was trying to help them to go to Liverpool.
Chapter 29
PLOT..
They passed a sign that proclaimed WELCOME TO ENGLAND.They were getting nearer to Liverpool. They are going to Annies cousi place in the Lake District. Rory and Granda will take a rest in her cottage. They soon arive at Normas cottage. It is nice an cozy. Norma is a glamorous and beautiful woman. She has a daughter named Nicola. They have a nice meal together. While watching television, Granda realises why they are going to Liverpool. He now knows that it is to meet Rorys father and he is furious about it.

PEOPLE ARE GENERALLY KIND AND WILLING TO LEND A HELPING HAND . RORY AND GRANDA RECEIVED HELP FROM ANNIE , NORMA AND NICOLA ON THEIR ESCAPE . THEY WILLING TO HELP BY GIVING RORY AND GRANDA FOOD AND SHELTER AND GETTING THEM TO LIVERPOOL .
