A well-respected member of her field, Dr. Amy Yasko...view moreDr. Amy Yasko is the author of Autism: Pathways To Recovery, a guide to treating autism through integrative health care. A well-respected member of her field, Dr. Amy Yasko began working with parents whose children suffer from autism after spending eight years running an alternative health care practice focused on the use of herbal medicines to combat chronic inflammation and other conditions.
An alumna of Colgate University, Dr. Amy Yasko earned her Bachelor’s degree in both Chemistry and Fine Arts. Dr. Amy Yasko continued her education at Clayton College of Natural Health, from which she graduated with the highest honors. Dr. Amy Yasko also holds a doctorate from Albany Medical College, where she studied microbiology, immunology, and infectious disease.
Evidencing her commitment to the advancement of medicine through research, Dr. Amy Yasko has held a number of fellowship positions over the years. Dr. Amy Yasko has studied eukaryotic and prokaryotic drug resistance in the Department of Hematology at Yale Medical Center, mammalian retroviruses at the Cancer Center at Strong Memorial Hospital, and bacterial vaccines in the Department of Pediatrics and Infectious Disease, as well as at Strong Memorial Hospital.
In addition to her extensive academic training, Dr. Amy Yasko has made significant contributions to her profession as a Founding Member of the National Integrative Medicine Council. Dr. Amy Yasko also belongs to the American College for Advancement in Medicine; the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists; Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Society; and more than a dozen other organizations.view less
